Alleluia! O my soul, praise the Lord

1. Alleluia! O my soul, praise the Lord, in each thought and action let him be adored; with every breath, every shout, every cry, I'll sing praise to God ever reigning on high. 2. Trust not in presidents, princes or kings, their slick manifestos, their vain promisings. God is creator of heaven and earth: in God is our hope, and in God is our worth. 3. God holds the cause of the poor and oppressed, bestows on the weary his peace and his rest; captives go free and the blind gain their sight, the lost are protected and guided aright. 4. Migrant and stranger no longer need roam, the grieving and orphan may here find their home; here, too, their voices and ours in accord sing alleluia, (alleluia, alleluia,) O my soul, praise the Lord!

Based on Psalm 146.
