Alleluia! Acclaim the Lord on high!

1. Alleluia! Acclaim the Lord on high! With every breath, with every shout and cry, we hymn our God from birth to final sigh: Alleluia! Alleluia! 2. Though prince and president demand our trust, their gilt façade will flake away as rust, their power today tomorrow turns to dust. Alleluia! Alleluia! 3. But blest are we whose help is in the Lord, who find in him our refuge and reward; his ever-faithful name be here adored. Alleluia! Alleluia! 4. The Lord upholds the cause of those oppressed, bestows upon the crushed his peace and rest; the Lord loves those who serve in righteousness. Alleluia! Alleluia! 5. The migrant here no longer needs to roam, bereaved and orphan find a welcome home; the Lord reigns here in wisdom and shalom. Alleluia! Alleluia!
